There is a new seasonal bus service from Callander to various destinations in and around the Trossachs, which may be of interest to some local residents.

“I am delighted to share details about the Trossachs Explorer seasonal bus service, which we unveiled yesterday, Wednesday, 19th June.  This pilot service will operate between Aberfoyle and Callander from 1st July to 30th September 2024, aiming to reduce emissions, prevent congestion, and enhance access to the National Park without the need for a car.

Key details of the Trossachs Explorer service:

  • Route Stops: Aberfoyle, The Lodge, Ben Venue, Loch Katrine, Ben A’an, Brig o’ Turk, Kilmahog (for Ben Ledi), and Callander.
  • Accessibility: An 8.8m wheelchair-accessible bus with a capacity for up to 63 passengers.
  • Frequency: Operating 7 days a week, up to 8 times a day.
  • Connectivity: Coordinated with bus services to and from Stirling and Glasgow, as well as Loch Katrine sailing times. Stirling Council’s C60 bus service between Killin and Callander, also starting a service from 1stJuly, will for instance, allow locals and visitors to travel further within the Park, without the need for a car.
