This page summarises the annual events which take place in Doune and Deanston in normal (ie non-Covid) times. Put them in your diary and look out for details nearer the time.
N.B. Until the Covid-19 situation significantly improves, some of these events may not take place.
More pages will be added for the major events as and when they are able to be scheduled.
Doune Ponds Easter Egg Hunt 2021
Come along to Doune Ponds between 2nd and 11th April and take part in our Easter Egg Hunt. Clue sheets will be available on our Facebook page or from Doune Information Centre. You can also download a Clue Sheet here.
Don’t forget to bring your own chocolate eggs as a reward – unfortunately we cannot hand any out this year.
Have fun and Happy Easter! DCWG
The Doune Gala takes place in June each year and is a fantastic week of events for all the family. The 2020 Gala was one of the few events anywhere to go ahead despite Covid-19, albeit in a highly modified format. Congratulations to the organising committee!
See separate Gala Page for this year’s plans – also the FB page at More Info below.
Deanston Family Funday
This event is normally held in late June at the old bowling green in Deanston. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained, including: raffle and tombola, craft stalls, face painting, little critters, inflatables, delicious home baking in the tea room and ice cream! This event is also free entry.
Senior Citizens Summer Outing
Organised by the Grosset Fair Committee, who raise the funds for it, this is typically a bus outing.
Doune and Dunblane Show
This a one day local agricultural show, held annually on the first Saturday of July. It is a relaxing and fun-filled family day out to experience Scottish rural life at its best.
Doune the Rabbit Hole
This annual music festival is technically not in the area covered by this web-site, but because of the name is included here. It occurs annually in July at Cardross Estate, Port of Menteith, approximately 13 miles from Doune and Deanston.
Doune Ponds Family Fun Day
A Family Fun Day is held in August/September time. There are lots of fun activites including welly whanging, coconut shy, storytelling, willow weaving, bug identification, dog agility and not forgetting delicious home baking and hot drinks.
This is a free event, but donations are welcome and go towards the upkeep of Doune Ponds.
Kilmadock Christmas Fayre
This event is usually held on the first Friday in December. Music, stalls with wonderful Christmas gift ideas, street entertainment and more, not forgetting Santa.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the 2020 Christmas Fayre will not take place this year.
Senior Citizens Christmas Meal
This normally takes place in December, however due to COVID-19 the usual evening of festivities will not take place in 2020.
Instead of the Christmas meal, a free Christmas Raffle has been organised. Find out more from the Christmas Raffle Poster.
If you would like to take part, please submit your details by Wednesday 25th November.
