  Welcome!

Our Villages

The ancient historic villages of Doune and Deanston lie adjacent to each other across the River Teith, a significant tributary of the River Forth. Today these two thriving communities showcase a number of interesting shops and businesses.

We have accommodation, great places to eat and drink and plenty of visitor attractions in the area including Doune Castle, Deanston Distillery, Argaty Red Kites and Blair Drummond Safari Park.  We are also within easy reach of the Highlands and the Trossachs National Park and only 15 minutes or so from the city of Stirling.

This is an ideally central location for a holiday, with a rich tapestry of history to explore, and many lovely walks to suit all abilities.  If you are visiting, you can find out more in the Visitor and Heritage pages or go to the Visitor menu at the top of every page and select Accommodation, Visitor Attractions etc.

The Website

This website was built by volunteers under the auspices of the Kilmadock Development Trust and the Kilmadock Community Council.  The work was mostly carried out in 2021, during the joys of lockdown and zoom meetings.

It is designed for use by both visitors and the local communities.  We hope you like it and find it useful. If you would like to get in touch, you can use the form on the Contact us page. If you have specific feedback on the website, then please use the Website Feedback form, also on that page.  Please feel free to comment – we are open to ideas for improvement.
