WELCOME TO DOUNE GALA 2022
The Gala Committee appeals for new members which will allow there to be a continuation of the traditional event. At this time, a scaled down presence is being offered, with hopefully, a full celebration returning next year. This is completely dependent on support from the village, and new committee members.
For everyone in Doune;
We have Janette’s Garden Competition. Entrants are invited to create a Miniature Garden Competition, in a tray, box, planter etc. The garden should be placed in an outside area for judging. All entrants should be registered via Messenger at the Doune Gala page, or 07810 628 512, by Thursday 16th June. This competition is open to all ages, and there are lots of prizes over the categories, along with the “Janette’s Garden Plaque” in memory of Janette Clark.
The annual Duck Race will take place on Sunday 19th June, at 12pm, along the River Teith, to The Pier. Ducks are currently on sale from Simply Sarah’s and Doune Library, priced £1.
Cash prizes for 1st – 10th place.
Everyone is welcome to come along to cheer the ducks as they race, and watch the Fisher folk and Canoeists retrieve them from the river. 12pm at The Pier, where the Ardoch meets the Teith!
